A postdoctoral research post in the laboratory of Max Gutierrez is now available. They are looking for a highly motivated researcher to develop human stem cell derived cells (iPSC) cellular systems to investigate the innate immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. As part of this project you will be developing CRISPR/Cas9 engineered human stem cells in 2D/3D micro-fabricated physiological environments.
This research is part of a recently funded ERC consolidator grant that aims to develop better models of human cells and tissues to understand the interplay between host cell and pathogen in tuberculosis. The successful applicant will use a wide range of techniques such as high content live cell imaging, correlative light electron microscopy and human stem cell genome editing.
For more information about our research, please visit the external lab website: Gutierrez Group. The successful applicant will have good communication and organisational skills and a PhD in a relevant area (or be in the final stages of completion).
