Biography:

I have completed my masters from department of Biochemistry, University of Calcutta and currently pursuing PhD at department of Pharmacology, IPGMER, Kolkata under the guidance of Prof. Mitali Chatterjee. For pursuing research, CSIR Govt of India is providing 5 years fellowship.  Currently our laboratory is working in the field of Visceral Leishmaniasis which is one of the neglected tropical disease of the world and has  an interesting dermal sequel known as Post Kala azar dermal  leishmaniasisHowever till date studies pertaining to VL and PKDL have been restricted to immunopathogenesis wherein lymphocyte dysfunction plays an important role. In more recent times, an emerging area is the metabolic status of these dysfunctional immune cells. Accordingly our study aims to explore the metabolic status of lymphocytes and their modulation during disease progression with regard to human VL and PKDL which may provide an improved insights for better understanding of the disease and collectively supporting the broader agenda of elimination and later perhaps eradication of Indian Leishmaniasis.

Till in my research career I have gained high experience knowledge on Flow cytometry, real time PCR, Western Blot, cell sorting and Extracellular Flux analyzer. Along with this I have also attended conferences on Immunology and Clinical medicine
