Biography:

Research in my lab is focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms used by Burkholderia pseudomallei to cause disease in humans and animals. I have over 20 years of experience working with this important bacterial pathogen and have significant expertise in areas relating to Burkholderia genetics, pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, glycobiology and subunit vaccine development. The main goal of my research is to identify correlates antigen-induced immunity against B. pseudomallei and use this information to develop safe, affordable and effective melioidosis vaccines.
