VALIDATE website launch
We're excited to announce the launch of the VALIDATE website!
We hope you'll find lots of interesting and useful content here - including our Network aims, our vision, who our members are, funding and training opportunities, and much more.
VALIDATE is an international network of researchers developing vaccines against globally significant diseases caused by complex intracellular pathogens. Our initial focus is on tuberculosis (TB), leishmaniasis, melioidosis, and leprosy, which cause substantial mortality and morbidity across the globe, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). By working together, we will advance research more quickly and effectively.
The VALIDATE Network also aims to encourage Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and career progression amongst its members, particularly early career researchers and researchers from LMICs. We provide this central hub website that highlights job and training opportunities in the field, and organise workshops, seminars, a mentoring scheme, and training grants. The VALIDATE Network is funded by the MRC and BBSRC, as a Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) grant to the University of Oxford, but our members come from academia, industry, government bodies, and non-governmental agencies across the globe. You can follow our news and updates on this website, and on Twitter (@NetworkValidate) - and don't forget, our first annual meeting is 5-6th September 2017. We hope you can join us in Oxford for this first meeting, so that we can give you further details about our plans, about the future pump-priming grants, and how the VALIDATE Network can help you in your research and career. There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet the other Network members and chat to these potential future collaborators.
