Stop TB Partnership (STBP) is a global multi-stakeholder partnership hosted by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The organization’s day-to-day operations are managed by a Secretariat based in Geneva, Switzerland. STBP was established by the World Health Assembly in May 2000, following the Ministerial Conference on Tuberculosis and Sustainable Development in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The organization comprises over 1500 partners (including civil society, communities, and countries affected by TB, non-governmental organizations in developed and developing countries, donors, foundations, multilateral agencies, private sector companies, technical agencies, etc.) and 10 working groups acting together to end TB by 2030.
STBP has expanded its breadth and scope by creating a new team, Strategic Initiatives & Innovative Financing (e.g., SIIF), which leads the development, roll-out, and implementation of ground-breaking initiatives and projects to bring the “Silicon Valley” mindset and innovations to the high burden countries and leverage multi-sectoral collaboration to address systematic barriers in the TB and global health space.
One such effort includes the Accelerator for Impact (a4i), a synthetic venture capital fund/mechanism for the TB and global health space, which aims to catalyze the rapid roll-out of new TB and AMR products and technologies in high burden countries by:
- Working together with innovators to navigate the TB market;
- Creating a network of key partners and operating teams to drive efficient product launches;
- Financing critical activities to catalyze demand in 3-5 early adopter countries; and
- Achieving a return on investment
The Analyst Intern will work on the SIIF team supporting the implementation of critical activities related to a4i.
