Our Funding Panels are responsible for assessing the scientific excellence and 3Rs impact of diverse, innovative applications for research and career development funding, and advising the budget holder on funding decisions. Each Panel acts as a single decision-making body, with all members sharing collective responsibility for its decisions.
We are currently inviting applications from talented researchers to become Panel members from January 2020 for the following Panels:
- Grant Assessment Panel
- Skills and Knowledge Transfer Assessment Panel
- Studentship Assessment Panel
- Training Fellowship Assessment Panel
Prospective panel members must have both permission and support from their host institution before applying.
For this recruitment round, we are looking for Panel members with expertise in the following areas:
Disciplines and techniques
- Cardiovascular system
- Cell and molecular biology
- Computational/ in silico modelling
- Diabetes/ pancreas
- Experimental design and statistical analysis
- Genome editing (e.g. CRISPR-Cas9)
- In vitro models including bioengineering and complex 3D cell models
- Non-mammalian models incl. Drosophila spp., Zebrafish, G. mellonella
- Pharmacology/ Toxicology
- Oncology
- Stem cell biology
- Tissue engineering
Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who also have:
- Industry experience
- Interdisciplinary expertise
- Experience of commercialisation of life sciences research e.g. spin-outs or start-ups.
