Reader in One Health
Employer: University of Liverpool (role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)
University of Liverpool are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a background in animal health, public health or social science who is enthusiastic about One Health research - the concept that the health of people, animals and the environment are inextricably linked.
You will pursue a research programme, manage the budget and contribute to the design and delivery of teaching in a relevant discipline. For individuals with relevant experience and outstanding track records of research Liverpool will consider making appointments in other areas, if relevant to One Health.
You will lead a research team based in Ethiopia comprising of: academics; postdoctoral researchers; project manager and administrator with an equivalent team based in Kenya.
You should have a degree (2:1 or above) and a PhD (or equivalent) in relevant subject with research experience in a field relevant to One Health. You will be based initially at the International Livestock Research Institute (IRLI) in Ethiopia until the HORN project end (31 December 2021), when you will be expected to return to the University campus to pursue your own research and deliver teaching.
