Biography:
I am a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Ivo Steinmetz at the Medical University of Graz and specialise in molecular surveillance of pathogens using next-generation sequencing as well as serological analyses for immunity, epidemiology and diagnostics.
My current work focuses on the development of rapid multiplex assays for melioidosis and glanders, which are valuable for bedside diagnostics as well as vaccine research, here especially for the identification of antigens that promote long-term immunity. In addition, I am working to make these tests easily accessible by developing portable, open-source tools that use 3D printing and microelectronics for standardised test read-out and analysis.
