Biography:

My scientific interests are working at the interface of basic science and clinical translation of TB vaccines and biomarkers. I completed my PhD at the University of Cape Town in 2015 and my postdoctoral fellowship at the South African Tuberculosis Initiative (SATVI) in 2020. As a research officer at SATVI, I provide scientific oversight on a number of projects that include understanding the T cell response to M.tb infection, evaluating TB biomarkers, and assessing candidate TB vaccines. My aim is to combine innovate study designs and state-of-the-art approaches to better understand the T cell response to TB to develop better vaccine and better diagnostics to reduce the global burden of TB.
