Biography:

After his Masters in Animal Biology in 2009, Djibril Wade was trained on all aspects of the biological follow-up of HIV patients during the University course on Biological Retrovirology. In 2011, he was awarded a PhD Scholarship from DGD (Belgian Directorate General for Development Cooperation) to start a PhD sandwich between Dakar, Senegal (Laboratory of Bacteriology Virology at Le Dantec Hostpital) and Antwerp, Belgium (Institute of Tropical Medicine). He was registered at the Universtiy of Antwerp as a PhD student at the Department of Biomedical Sciences. During his PhD, he assisted the Senegalese National ART Program to implement the CD4 Quality Control Program and to decentralize CD4 monitoring. He obtained his PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) in June 2015, under the supervision of Prof Dr Luc Kestens (Belgium) and Prof Dr Souleymane Mboup (Senegal). After that, he coordinated the Phase 2b Ebola vaccine trial in Dakar. As a scientist, Djibril Wade authored 3 peer-reviewed papers published in International Journals and co-authored 5 others. He has attended and presented his work at different scientific meetings.
